Tips:

  • For a crispy crust, use a combination of all-purpose flour and bread flour. Bread flour has a higher protein content, which will result in a chewier crust.
  • Use cold butter when making the pie crust. This will help to prevent the butter from melting and making the crust greasy.
  • Be sure to chill the pie dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help to make the dough less sticky and easier to work with.
  • When assembling the pie, be sure to brush the edges of the bottom crust with egg wash before adding the top crust. This will help to seal the edges of the pie and prevent the filling from leaking out.
  • Bake the pie at a high temperature for the first 15 minutes. This will help to create a crispy crust.
  • Reduce the oven temperature after 15 minutes and continue to bake the pie until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will allow the filling to set and the flavors to meld.

Conclusion:

Chicken and cheese pie is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With its crispy crust, creamy filling, and flavorful chicken, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
