Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1/3 c butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c white sugar
3/4 c packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
3/4 c peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp water
3/4 c whole wheat flour
1/4 c all-purpose flour or unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 c peanut butter chips
optional chocolate: melted chocolate drizzle, chocolate frosting, or add some chocolate chips, when adding peanut butter chips, if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 9 inch baking pan. (If you use an 8 x 8 inch pan, it will take longer to cook, in the middle.)
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugars; add eggs, one at a time, and beat, until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in peanut butter, vanilla, and water.
  • 3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together flours with salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir into peanut butter mixture, and blend well. Fold in peanut butter chips. Spread batter into the prepared pan.
  • 4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top springs back, when touched. Cool, and cut, into 16 squares.

Tips:

  • Use good quality chocolate: The better the chocolate, the better the brownies will taste. If you can, use a high-quality dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the brownies tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Bake the brownies in a preheated oven: This will help to ensure that the brownies bake evenly.
  • Don't overbake the brownies: Overbaking the brownies will make them dry. Bake the brownies just until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them: This will help to prevent them from crumbling.
  • Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature: The brownies will keep for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

Conclusion:

Chewy peanut butter brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of brownies that are sure to please everyone. These brownies are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a special snack.

So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give these chewy peanut butter brownies a try. You won't be disappointed! Enjoy!
