My family absolutely LOVES brownies. Before I left my job to become a stay-at-home-mom again, I used to use store bought mixes, but out of necessity, I started making them from scratch. They are not only economical but they are easy to make and taste DELICIOUS! My son and husband love this recipe. They like them a little bit...

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 2/3 c granulated sugar
1 1/2 stick buttter or margarine, melted
2 Tbsp water
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/3 c all purpose flour
3/4 c baking cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c chopped nuts, optional

Steps:

  • 1. PREHEAT oven to 350*F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. (I use a smaller pan to make the brownies a bit thicker)
  • 2. COMBINE sugar, butter and water in large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
  • 3. COMBINE flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; stir into sugar mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread into prepared baking pan.
  • 4. BAKE for 18 - 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes approximately 2 dozen brownies

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all your ingredients measured and ready to go. This will help ensure that your brownies turn out perfectly.
  • Use High-Quality Chocolate: The quality of your chocolate will greatly affect the flavor of your brownies. Use a good-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best results.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will make your brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the Brownies in a Preheated Oven: This will help ensure that they bake evenly.
  • Let the Brownies Cool Completely Before Cutting Them: This will help prevent them from crumbling.

Conclusion:

These chewy cocoa brownies are the perfect dessert for any occasion. They're fudgy, chocolatey, and have a crispy crust. With a few simple tips, you can easily make these brownies at home. So what are you waiting for? Give this recipe a try today!
