I took this out of my latest Easy Home Cooking magazine. It's a Quaker oatmeal recipe. I have been looking for an easy breakfast for my two little ones and this looks like a winner. I think any low fat yogurt would do nicely depending on the fruit you choose. Can't wait to try it!

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your breakfast bars will be.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing will make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the bars hold their shape better.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set: Overbaking will make the bars dry.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them: This will help prevent them from crumbling.

Conclusion:

These chewy breakfast bars are a delicious and healthy way to start your day. They are packed with nutrients and fiber, and they are naturally sweetened with honey and bananas. Plus, they are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like them plain or loaded with nuts, seeds, or dried fruit, these breakfast bars are sure to be a hit.
