Tips:

  • For the perfect crumbly crust, use a pastry blender or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
  • For a smooth and creamy filling, use a stand or hand mixer to beat the cream cheese and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Spread the filling evenly over the crust. This will ensure that each bar has a good amount of filling.
  • Bake the bars until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Overbaking can result in a dry cake.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to hold their shape better.

Conclusion:

Chess cake bars are a classic Southern dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and always a hit with a crowd. With their creamy, decadent filling and buttery, crumbly crust, these bars are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
