Categories     Hot Drinks

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 cups cherry flavored apple cider or apple cider
4 cups strong brewed tea
1/2 of a 6 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 of a 6 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate
1/2 cup sugar
3 inches cinnamon stick
1 tsp. whole cloves

Steps:

  • 1. In large kettle, mix 8 cups water with the cider, tea, juice concentrates and sugar. Put cinnamon and cloves in cheesecloth and tie. Add to cider mixture. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serves 18

Tips:

  • Pick the right cider: Not all ciders are created equal. For this recipe, you'll want to choose a cider that is both sweet and tart. A good option is apple cider, which is made from a blend of sweet and tart apples.
  • Use fresh spices: Fresh spices will give your cider the best flavor. If you can, use whole spices and grind them yourself. This will release their full flavor.
  • Don't boil the cider: Boiling the cider will make it lose its flavor. Instead, heat it over low heat until it is just simmering.
  • Let the cider steep: After you've added the spices to the cider, let it steep for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve the cider warm: Cherry spiced cider is best served warm. You can reheat it over low heat or serve it in a slow cooker.

Conclusion:

Cherry spiced cider is a delicious and festive drink that is perfect for the holiday season. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a warm and inviting drink that will be enjoyed by all.
