Time 1h10m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
2 cans cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Place pineapple chunks in glass 9x13 baking dish.
  • Pour pie filling over pineapple.
  • Sprinkle dry cake mix on top, and pour melted butter over all.
  • Bake in preheated 350 degree oven, UNCOVERED, for one hour.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cherries and pineapple for the best flavor. If you're using canned fruit, be sure to drain it well before adding it to the recipe.
  • If you don't have a cherry pitter, you can use a paring knife to cut around the pit and then pop it out with your fingers.
  • Be careful not to overcook the fruit. It should be cooked until it's just tender, but not mushy.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, you can add a cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) to the pan and cook until the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve the dessert warm or chilled. It's delicious either way!

This cherry pineapple dessert is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that's perfect for any occasion. The combination of sweet cherries, tangy pineapple, and creamy pudding is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
