Steps:
- 1. Boil cherry juice and add gelatin. Stir until dissolved, about 2 minutes, and add cola. Add pecans, cream cheese and cherries. Chill in a flat 9X13 dish until set. Cut into squares and serve on leaf lettuce.
Tips:
- Use fresh cherries: Fresh cherries add a delicious, natural sweetness and tartness to the salad. If you can't find fresh cherries, frozen cherries can also be used. Just be sure to thaw them before using.
- Choose a flavorful Jell-O: The flavor of the Jell-O will be the dominant flavor in the salad, so choose one that you enjoy. Some popular choices include cherry, strawberry, and raspberry.
- Don't overcook the Jell-O: Overcooked Jell-O will be tough and rubbery. Follow the package directions carefully to avoid overcooking.
- Chill the salad thoroughly: The salad needs to be chilled for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving. This will allow the Jell-O to set properly and the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the salad with whipped cream or ice cream: Whipped cream or ice cream adds a delicious and creamy touch to the salad. It's also a great way to balance out the sweetness of the cherries and Jell-O.
Conclusion:
Cherry Jell-O salad is a classic summer dessert that is both refreshing and delicious. It's a great way to use up fresh cherries, and it's always a hit at potlucks and picnics. With a few simple tips, you can make a cherry Jell-O salad that is sure to impress your friends and family.
