1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon almond extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup crushed cornflakes
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup cherry baking chips
Additional sugar

Steps:

  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and almond extract; mix well. Combine the flour, cornflakes and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chips. Shape into 1-in. balls; place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Coat bottom of glass with cooking spray, then dip in sugar. Flatten cookies with prepared glass, redipping in sugar as needed. 1 cup cherry chips (avail.from King Arthur Flour)
1 cup coarsely chopped almonds (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375*F.

1 package (17.5 ounces) sugar cookie mix
1 cup cherry baking chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add cream cheese. Beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and mix on medium until combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

1/3 cup hot water
6 tablespoons shortening
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
3 teaspoons grated orange zest
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, soak cherries in hot water for at least 10 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, cream the shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
