Tips:

  • Use fresh cherries. Fresh cherries have the best flavor and texture for this recipe.
  • If you don't have fresh cherries, you can use frozen cherries. Just thaw them before using.
  • Do not overcook the cherries. Overcooked cherries will lose their flavor and texture.
  • Be careful when flambĂ©ing the cherries. FlambĂ©ing is a quick and easy way to add flavor to the cherries, but it can be dangerous if you're not careful. Make sure to use a long-handled lighter or match and keep your face and hands away from the flame.
  • Don't skip the ice cream. The ice cream adds a delicious creaminess and sweetness to the parfaits.
  • If you don't have any whipped cream, you can use Cool Whip or another whipped topping.
  • Garnish the parfaits with fresh cherries, chocolate shavings, or chopped nuts.
