Tips:

  • Choose the Right Zucchini: Select medium-sized zucchini that are firm and have a deep green color. Avoid zucchini that are too large or have blemishes.
  • Grate the Zucchini Properly: Use a box grater with large holes to grate the zucchini. Grating the zucchini too finely will make the pie soggy.
  • Squeeze out Excess Moisture: Place the grated zucchini in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then squeeze out the excess moisture using a paper towel or cheesecloth.
  • Use Freshly Grated Cheese: Grated cheese from a block melts better and tastes fresher than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will make the pie tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the Pie Until Golden Brown: The pie is done baking when the crust is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Conclusion:

Cheesy zucchini pie is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a great way to use up leftover zucchini and is also a good source of vegetables. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen.
