Categories     Sandwiches

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can(s) refrigerated, ready to bake, buttermilk biscuits
1.5-2 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
14-16 oz can of bbq beans, baked beans or pork and beans
10 oz can condensed tomato soup
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 c shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large frying pan, brown the ground beef and onion; drain. Stir in beans, soup and seasonings. Bring to a simmer.
  • 2. While the meat mixture simmers, bake refrigerated biscuits according to their package directions.
  • 3. When the biscuits are done, split in half. Spoon the meat mixture on one half of the biscuit and top with shredded cheese. Put the other half of the biscuit on top of the cheese to form a sandwich. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use a food processor or blender to quickly and easily chop the onion and bell pepper.
  • If you don't have a food processor or blender, simply dice the onion and bell pepper very finely.
  • Brown the ground beef and sausage over medium heat, stirring constantly to break up the meat and prevent it from clumping.
  • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the browned meat and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns, with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
  • For a neater presentation, spoon the sloppy joe mixture into individual serving bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
