Tips:

  • Use a large pot to cook the macaroni, as it will expand while cooking.
  • Cook the macaroni according to the package directions, but be sure to drain it al dente, as it will continue to cook in the cheese sauce.
  • Use a good quality cheddar cheese for the best flavor. A sharp cheddar will give the sauce a more intense flavor, while a mild cheddar will be more mellow.
  • Add the ham to the cheese sauce towards the end of cooking, so that it doesn't overcook and become tough.
  • Serve the macaroni and cheese immediately, while it is still hot and bubbly.

Conclusion:

This cheesy macaroni with ham is a classic comfort food dish that is sure to please everyone at the table. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like your macaroni and cheese mild or sharp, with or without ham, this recipe is sure to become a favorite.
