Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 bag frozen tater tots
2 Tablespoon ranch dressing
2 Tablespoons sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
5-6 slices of cooked bacon (diced)

Steps:

  • Cook tater tots according to directions on package. Meanwhile, mix together ranch dressing and sour cream. Set aside.
  • Removed tots from oven, but keep oven on. Sprinkle with shredded cheeses, and bacon. Place back in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  • NOTE: You can either keep them on the baking sheet, or place tots in an oven proof pan. If you keep them on the baking sheet, you will be doing a single layer. But if you put them in a pan (as shown in the picture) you will want to do 2 layers. 1/2 of the tots, bacon and cheese, then the other 1/2 of bacon and cheese.
  • Once cheese has melted, remove from the oven, drizzle with the ranch/sour cream mixture, and serve right away.

CRISPY CHEESY NACHO TOTS

Categories     appetizer

Time 35m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound frozen Tater Tots®
1/4 cup half-and-half
1 1/4 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons pico de gallo or chopped tomato
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves
Sour cream, for topping

Steps:

  • Bake the Tater Tots® until very crispy, following the package directions.
  • Meanwhile, combine the half-and-half, 1 cup of the cheese, and the cornstarch in a small saucepan. Whisking constantly, cook over medium heat until melted and smooth, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the pico de gallo.
  • When the Tater Tots are done, transfer them an 8-inch cast-iron skillet. Preheat the broiler to high. Spoon the cheese sauce over the tots and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup cheese. Broil until the cheese is bubbling and melted, about 1 minute. Top with the cilantro and a dollop of sour cream.

Tips:

  • Use frozen tater tots: Frozen tater tots are the key to this recipe, as they cook evenly and quickly in the air fryer. If you don't have frozen tater tots, you can make your own by grating potatoes and forming them into small balls.
  • Make sure the tater tots are evenly coated in oil: This will help them crisp up and brown in the air fryer. You can use cooking spray or a brush to coat the tater tots in oil.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer: If you overcrowd the air fryer, the tater tots will not cook evenly. Cook the tater tots in batches if necessary.
  • Season the tater tots to your liking: You can add any seasonings you like to the tater tots before cooking them. Some popular options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Serve the tater tots immediately: Cheesy loaded tater tots are best served hot and fresh out of the air fryer. You can garnish them with additional cheese, sour cream, or chives.

Conclusion:

Cheesy loaded tater tots are a quick and easy appetizer or side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or game day gatherings. With just a few simple ingredients and a few minutes in the air fryer, you can have a delicious and satisfying snack that everyone will love.
