CHEESY ITALIAN SAUSAGE & POTATO BAKE RECIPE - (4/5)

Cheesy Italian Sausage & Potato Bake Recipe - (4/5) image

Provided by á-11135

1 large carrot, peeled and sliced
1/2 onion, chopped
4 to 5 whole Italian sausage links
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder,
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Lay the sausages across the top. Cover with tinfoil and place in a 425° oven for 30 minutes. Remove and uncover, return to the oven for 20 minutes. Remove and top with the cheese and place back in the oven for 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients and tools ready. This will help you stay organized and prevent any scrambling during the cooking process.
  • Choose High-Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the final dish. Use fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices whenever possible.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: When cooking the sausage and potatoes, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the food from cooking evenly and will result in soggy potatoes.
  • Cook the Potatoes until Golden Brown: The potatoes should be cooked until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This will ensure that they have a nice texture and flavor.
  • Use a Good Quality Cheese: The cheese is a key ingredient in this dish, so make sure to use a good quality cheese that melts well. A blend of mozzarella and Parmesan is a classic choice, but you can also use other types of cheese, such as cheddar or fontina.
  • Serve Immediately: This dish is best served immediately after it is made. The potatoes will start to lose their crispness if they sit for too long.

Conclusion:

This Cheesy Italian Sausage Potato Bake is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. With its combination of sausage, potatoes, vegetables, and cheese, this dish is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
