CHEESY FLAT BREAD

Adapted from an old Quick Cooking. A great bread to serve with a soup meal. I have also used the thin crust boboli with success. Leave off the cheddar and after baking top with fresh grated romano and you can almost image you are eating Chicago Oven Grinders Mediterranean Bread!

1/2 c hot water
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 c grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c grated monterrey jack cheese
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
2 tsp chopped basil
1/2 tsp italian seasoning

Tips:

  • Choose the right cheese: Mozzarella is the classic choice for flatbread, but you can also use cheddar, Parmesan, or a blend of cheeses. For a more unique flavor, try using a goat cheese or blue cheese.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better your flatbread will taste. Look for fresh vegetables, herbs, and cheeses.
  • Don't overcrowd the flatbread: When adding toppings, leave some space between them so that they can cook evenly.
  • Bake the flatbread until it is golden brown and crispy: This will ensure that the crust is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the flatbread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving: This will help the cheese to set and the flatbread to hold its shape.
