Tips:

  • Use a variety of cheeses. The recipe calls for a combination of mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta cheeses, but you can use any type of cheese that you like. Some other good options include cheddar, Gruyère, and fontina.
  • Cook the tortellini al dente. This means that they should be cooked until they are tender but still have a slight bite to them. Overcooked tortellini will be mushy and unpleasant to eat.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. When browning the beef, make sure to cook it in batches so that it doesn't steam instead of brown. Overcrowding the pan will result in tough, chewy beef.
  • Use a large baking dish. The casserole will need plenty of room to spread out so that it cooks evenly. A 9x13 inch baking dish is a good size.
  • Cover the casserole with foil. This will help to keep the casserole moist and prevent it from drying out.
  • Let the casserole rest before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the casserole to set.

    Conclusion:

This cheesy beef tortellini casserole with basil is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its combination of tender tortellini, savory beef, and gooey cheese, this casserole is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
