BAKED CREAM CHEESE JALAPENO POPPERS

Baked Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers image

After a number of unsatisfactory attempts at making deep-fried poppers, I modified a recipe by Emeril that is much easier than frying and everyone in our family agrees that these are at least as good as -- if not better than -- any fried poppers they have had! We love hot peppers and always make a lot of these from the ones we grow in our garden every year.

Tips:

  • Choose the right jalapeños: Look for firm, deep green jalapeños that are about 2-3 inches long. Avoid any jalapeños that have blemishes or bruises.
  • Wear gloves when handling jalapeños: The capsaicin in jalapeños can irritate your skin, so it's important to wear gloves when handling them. If you do get capsaicin on your skin, wash it off with soap and water immediately.
  • Remove the seeds and ribs from the jalapeños: This will help to reduce the heat level of the poppers. To do this, cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and ribs.
  • Stuff the jalapeños with your favorite filling: You can use a variety of fillings for your jalapeño poppers, such as cheese, cooked meat, or vegetables. Be creative and experiment with different flavors.
  • Bread the jalapeño poppers: This will help to keep the filling inside the poppers and give them a crispy outer coating. You can bread the poppers in flour, bread crumbs, or panko bread crumbs.
  • Cook the jalapeño poppers: You can cook the jalapeño poppers in the oven, on the stovetop, or in the air fryer. Cook them until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve the jalapeño poppers with your favorite dipping sauce: Ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and guacamole are all popular dipping sauces for jalapeño poppers.

Conclusion:

Cheese-stuffed jalapeño poppers are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. They are also a great way to use up leftover jalapeños. With a variety of fillings and cooking methods to choose from, there is sure to be a jalapeño popper recipe that everyone will enjoy.
