CHEDDAR & VEGETABLE PASTA BAKE
Soooo good! I found this in a Sargento Cheese Ad sometime in 1996. It tastes like veggie lasagna, could be a vegetarian main dish or a side for dinner. Or a Lenten specialty. I did have to thin the cream sauce out before I baked it because the dish thickens up quite a lot in the oven. You can use penne or other pasta but the bowties are really pretty. You can find a picture on the Sargento web site.

Tips:
- Choose the Right Pasta: Use a short pasta that will hold the sauce well, such as penne, macaroni, or shells.
- Cook the Pasta Al Dente: Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, but be sure to cook it al dente (still slightly firm to the bite) so that it doesn't become mushy in the bake.
- Use a Variety of Vegetables: Don't be afraid to experiment with different vegetables in your pasta bake. Some good options include broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, and bell peppers.
- Don't Overcook the Vegetables: You want the vegetables to be tender, but not mushy. Cook them just until they are tender-crisp.
- Use a Creamy Sauce: A creamy sauce will help to bind the pasta and vegetables together and make the dish more flavorful. You can use a simple white sauce, a cheese sauce, or a tomato-based sauce.
- Add Some Protein: If you want to make your pasta bake more filling, you can add some cooked protein, such as chicken, beef, or sausage.
- Top with Cheese: A layer of cheese on top of the pasta bake will help to brown it and make it more flavorful. You can use any type of cheese that you like, but cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan are all good choices.
- Bake Until Golden Brown: Bake the pasta bake in a preheated oven until it is golden brown and bubbly. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes.
Conclusion:
A cheddar vegetable pasta bake is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a family meal or a potluck. With its creamy sauce, tender vegetables, and cheesy topping, this pasta bake is sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a comforting and flavorful meal, give this cheddar vegetable pasta bake a try!
