Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 c lukewarm ( 95º) water
2 pkg (1/4 oz. each) or 1 1/2 tbsps active dry yeast
2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 c + 2 tbsps grated aged cheddae cheese
1/2 c chopped fresh chives
2 Tbsp butter, unsalted
2 tsp salt
4 1/2 c all purpose flour

Steps:

  • 1. 1. Pour water into large mixing bowl. Sprinkle yeast and sugar over water; stir to dissolve. Set aside until foamy, about 10 minutes. Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before starting, gather all necessary ingredients and equipment. This will ensure a smooth and efficient cooking process.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh herbs, like chives, add a burst of flavor to the bread. Make sure to use them when they are at their peak.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing can result in a tough, dense bread. Mix the dough just until it comes together, then knead it briefly on a lightly floured surface.
  • Let the dough rise properly: The first rise allows the yeast to activate and the dough to double in size. The second rise gives the bread its final shape and volume.
  • Bake the bread until golden brown: The bread is done baking when it reaches an internal temperature of 190°F (88°C) and the crust is golden brown.

Conclusion:

This Cheddar Chive Bread is a delectable savory treat that is perfect for any occasion. Its soft and fluffy interior, studded with sharp cheddar cheese and fragrant chives, is encased in a golden-brown crust. Whether served as a side dish, appetizer, or snack, this bread is sure to impress.
