Time 10m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

12 ounces beer
8 ounces swiss cheese, shredded (mild Irish swiss works best)
4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Mix cheeses with flour.
  • Heat beer in fondue pot until steaming.
  • Add Worcestershire, garlic, mustard and pepper; mix well.
  • Add cheese and stir until melted.
  • Use chunks of bread, veggies and apples for dipping in cheese mixture.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality cheddar cheese that melts well. A sharp cheddar will give the fondue a more intense flavor.
  • Grate the cheese yourself so that it melts evenly.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent the fondue from burning.
  • Cook the fondue over low heat, stirring constantly, until it is smooth and melted.
  • Add a splash of white wine or beer to the fondue for extra flavor.
  • Season the fondue with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
  • Serve the fondue with a variety of dippers, such as bread, vegetables, and fruit.
  • Keep the fondue warm over a fondue burner or in a slow cooker.

Conclusion:

Cheddar cheese fondue is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is perfect for parties, potlucks, and special occasions.
