FRESH CAULIFLOWER AND HAM CHOWDER
My husband is a "Soup Nut". The first time I made this for him, he ate most of the pot, so now I double the recipe. It has become one of his favourites. I have already doubled the recipe for you to enjoy. I usually make this the day after we have had a Honey Glazed Ham dinner

Steps:
- 1. Combine potatoes, cauliflower and onion in a large pan. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 to 12 minutes.
- 2. Blend in flour and then gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture just comes to a boil and thickens.
- 3. Stir in ham and turn heat so it just simmers.
- 4. I like to let it simmer for an hour or more to let the ham flavour come through. Serve with a nice crusty bread.

Tips:
- Choose fresh cauliflower and ham. The fresher the ingredients, the better the chowder will taste. Look for cauliflower that is white and firm, with no brown spots. The ham should be cooked and diced.
- Use a variety of vegetables. In addition to cauliflower, you can add other vegetables to your chowder, such as carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes. This will give the chowder more flavor and texture.
- Use a good quality cheese. The cheese you use will also have a big impact on the flavor of the chowder. Use a sharp cheddar cheese or a combination of cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
- Season the chowder to taste. Add salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. You can also add a bay leaf or two for extra flavor.
- Serve the chowder hot. Cauliflower and ham chowder is best served hot, with a side of crusty bread or crackers.
Conclusion:
Cauliflower and ham chowder is a delicious and hearty soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With its creamy texture and flavorful ingredients, cauliflower and ham chowder is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
