Tips:

  • Choose the right carrots: Look for carrots that are firm and brightly colored. Avoid carrots that are limp or have blemishes.
  • Use fresh thyme: Fresh thyme has a more intense flavor than dried thyme. If you don't have fresh thyme, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried thyme.
  • Toast the couscous: Toasting the couscous before cooking it gives it a nutty flavor. Be sure to stir the couscous constantly so that it doesn't burn.
  • Use vegetable broth instead of water: Vegetable broth adds more flavor to the couscous. If you don't have vegetable broth, you can use water, but be sure to add a little bit of salt.
  • Let the couscous rest before serving: After the couscous is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the couscous to absorb all of the flavors.

Conclusion:

Carrot couscous with thyme is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. The combination of sweet carrots, fragrant thyme, and fluffy couscous is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a quick and healthy meal, give carrot couscous with thyme a try.
