Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 Hatch green chile or 1 cup canned diced Hatch chiles
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 cup finely chopped scallions, white and light green parts only, plus 2 tablespoons sliced dark green parts, for garnish (4 to 5 scallions)
1 pound cream cheese, at room temperature
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups Mexican blend shredded cheese (8 ounces)
1 teaspoon lime zest (2 limes)
Blue and white tortilla chips, for serving

  • Meanwhile, peel and seed the chile and then it cut into medium dice. Turn the heat under the skillet to low and add the chiles, cream cheese and some salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until the cream cheese is melted. Add the sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese, and the lime zest. Smooth the top and then sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly and just starting to brown, about 15 minutes.

CAROLINA PANTHERS HOT CHILI CHEESE DIP

Carolina Panthers Hot Chili Cheese Dip image

I make this to take to Super Bowl Parties when we are invited and always come home with an empty dish! I can not take credit for this dip. Years ago, while watching Good Morning America, they were having a cook-off and this was the one that won. I believe that it was a cook-off between Charlie, Diane and Robyn.

Number Of Ingredients 4

3-4 (8 oz.) cream cheese, soften
2 can(s) hormel chili with no beans
3 c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 c chopped jalapeno peppers (i use diced green chilis in a can because my kids don't like it too hot)

Steps:

  • 1. Start off by spreading the cream cheese on the bottom of a 9x13" casserole dish then continue layering each ingredient, in order given and bake at 350 degrees until cheese has melted and had become bubbly on the sides.
  • 2. ***Optional. I like to add chopped tomatoes and chopped green onions on top AFTER I pull it out of the oven. (We also like it with sliced black olives as an addition to the top.)
  • 3. Serve with Tortilla Chips or Fritos!!!!

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices will give your dip the best flavor. Avoid using canned or jarred ingredients whenever possible.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment: There are many different ways to make chili cheese dip. Feel free to add your own favorite ingredients or adjust the proportions of the ingredients to suit your taste.
  • Make sure the cheese is melted smoothly: The cheese is the star of the show in this dip, so make sure it's melted smoothly and evenly. You can do this by melting it slowly over low heat or by using a double boiler.
  • Serve the dip immediately: Chili cheese dip is best served immediately after it's made. The longer it sits, the more the flavors will meld together and the dip will become less creamy.

Conclusion:

Carolina Panthers Hot Chili Cheese Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. With its creamy texture, cheesy flavor, and spicy kick, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack or appetizer, give this recipe a try - you won't be disappointed!
