CARDAMOM-FLAVORED FRUIT SALAD (SALATAT AL-FAWAAKIH)
From: "Classic Vegetarian Cooking from the Middle East & North Africa"-Arabian Gulf. This is the BEST fruit salad my husband or I have ever tried! It's easy, healthy, refreshing and WONDERFUL. You have to like cardamom to really appreciate it though. You may find yourself doubling the sauce in the future because you want to drink it up. I don't repeat very many recipes because there are too many new ones to try but this one is repeated over and over during cantaloupe season. I'm sure it would work with other fruits as well but I like this combo so much I haven't experimented.

THE BEST FRUIT SALAD EVER

Steps:
- Chop all fruit into bite sized pieces. You CAN cut the grapes and cherries, but I usually do not.
- Throw all the fruit into a very large bowl and add cool whip, yogurt, marshmallows.
- Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey.
- I usually freeze this, but tastes good in the refrigerator, too! Although, fruit doesn't keep as long in refrigerator, and the freezy treat is tastier to me :D.
Tips:
- Choose ripe, seasonal fruits for the best flavor and texture.
- Use a variety of fruits to create a colorful and flavorful salad.
- If using canned fruit, rinse it well and drain it before adding it to the salad.
- Use fresh cardamom pods for the best flavor. If you don't have cardamom pods, you can use ground cardamom, but use less, as it is more concentrated.
- Adjust the amount of sugar or honey to taste. If you like a sweeter salad, add more sugar or honey. If you prefer a less sweet salad, use less or omit the sweetener altogether.
- Serve the salad chilled for a refreshing treat.
Conclusion:
Cardamom flavored fruit salad is a delicious and refreshing dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its vibrant colors and sweet, tangy flavor, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a healthy and delicious snack or side dish, give cardamom flavored fruit salad a try. You won't be disappointed!
