CARAMEL CRISPIX MIX W/ M&M'S

Caramel Crispix Mix W/ M&m's image

I got this recipe from a coworker, warning: it's highly addictive! It's a perfect combination of salty, sweet, and a little chocolate. I was a little hesitant about microwaving the mixture in a bag, but it turns out well. You could definitely add more M&M's if you'd like. I've made this for holidays and used festive M&M's (red/white/blue for the 4th of July, red/green for Christmas). Total cook time includes cooling.

  • Store in a tightly covered/sealed container.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will give your Caramel Crispix Mix the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't overcook the caramel: The caramel should be cooked until it reaches a golden amber color. If you overcook it, it will be too hard and brittle.
  • Be careful when adding the Crispix cereal: The caramel is very hot, so be careful when adding the Crispix cereal. Stir it in gently to avoid splattering.
  • Let the Caramel Crispix Mix cool completely before breaking it into pieces: This will help to prevent it from crumbling.
  • Store the Caramel Crispix Mix in an airtight container at room temperature: It will keep for up to 2 weeks.
