3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 package (14 ounces) caramels
1/3 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks
1 cup salted cashew halves, chopped

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Combine flour and oats; gradually add to creamed mixture. , Press into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. , Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine caramels and cream. Cook over low heat for 4-5 minutes or until caramels are melted, stirring occasionally. Pour over crust. 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 (14 ounce) bag caramels, unwrapped
1/3 cup half-and-half
1 cup large cashew pieces
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy and then beat in egg.
  • Stir in flour and oats and blend well.
  • Press into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 15- 18 minutes until light brown.
  • In a medium saucepan combine caramels and half and half and cook over low heat until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring occasionally.

Found this recipes in a Simple and Delicious Taste of home magazine. All I can say is WOOOOOW so yummy. I made this for our work Christmas party dessert contest. A young male employee said if this was a girl I would fall in LOVE and marry her. He ate 5 or six pieces of this. It was a big hit with everyone who ate it.

3/4 c butter, softened
3/4 c packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 c old-fashioned oats ( not quick kind )
1 pkg 14 oz caramels ( come in packages of caramel chips but 11 oz only so you'll need a extra package to make 14 oz.
1/3 c half and half cream
1 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chunks ( or chocolate chips which i used.
1 1/2 c salted cashew halves and pieces
sea salt to spinkle lightly on top.

Steps:

  • 1. Pre heat oven to 350 Degrees In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg. Stir in flour and oats. Press into bottom of a 13-in x 9-in. x 2 in baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 Deg. for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan,combine caramels and cream. Cook over Low heat until caramels are melted, stirring occassionally. Pour over cooked crust. Sprinkle with the chocolates Chunks or chips and cashews.
  • 3. Bake for another 8-10 mintues or until the chocolate is melted. Cool on wire rack before cutting. Sprinkle small amount of sea salt on top.
