Time 1h

Yield 1 martini

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 ounces apple flavored bourbon, such as Jim Beam Apple
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce toasted caramel syrup
1 large egg white
Pinch ground cinnamon
1 Cinnamon Sugar Straw, recipe follows
1 store-bought pie dough (9-inch round)
1 large egg, beaten with 2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons turbinado sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Shake the bourbon, triple sec, caramel syrup and egg white together in a cocktail shaker until your arm hurts?this step is called a dry shake. If you're using an egg white it's the most important step because the egg white has to break down before adding the ice! Add ice to the shaker and shake until cold. Strain into a martini glass. Top with cinnamon and a Cinnamon Sugar Straw.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Using a knife, square off 4 sides of the pie dough. Brush a layer of egg wash over the dough and sprinkle with the turbinado sugar and cinnamon. Cut the dough into 1/2-inch-wide strips. (The strips should be at least 7 inches long to lay across a 5-inch wide martini glass.)
  • Bake for 30 minutes, and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before adding to a martini glass.

CARAMEL APPLE PIE MARTINI

Caramel Apple Pie Martini image

I came up with this when I was in the mood for an apple pie martini, but I was out of vanilla vodka. These don't taste as boozy as they are, so they are kind of dangerous! This makes two large drinks or three if your glasses are small.

Playing with drink recipes again! A nice Fall Drink! Forget the fall, this is an anytime drink! Today is May 21,04 I just made this again and posted the picture with these changes, without the soda, I dipped the apple garnish into my caramel sauce recipe #77540, dipped the rim into the caramel then dipped into frosted flakes and candied walnuts put through my coffee grinder. So Yummy and dangerous!!!! I asked 2 different bar tenders to make this drink for me. One at Applebees and the other at Catch 22 both in NJ. The Applebees bartender at first said he didn't have the ingredients but then he I told him he had apple schnapps, vanilla vodka and buttershots schnapps he went and made better then I did. He swirled caramel on the inside of the glass his own doing (Can you believe I didn't have to tell him to do that) and dipped the rim into cinnamon and sugar my telling him. He had no problem making this drink for me and invited my husband and I back on the nights he works. The bartender at Catch 22 didn't like making something new at first but he came accustom very fast when everyone was trying my drink and going up and asking him for one.($8.00 a drink he was charging). He made out on me! But it was worth it! So if you want skip the splash of soda! It really doesn't need it!

CARAMEL APPLE PIE

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Categories     dessert

Time 2h25m

Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 20

3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for flouring
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) salted butter, cut into pieces
3/4 cup vegetable shortening or lard
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 egg, lightly beaten
6 to 7 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick oats
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 jar (or more) caramel topping

Steps:

  • For the perfect spiced pie crust: Mix the flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a bowl. Add the butter and vegetable shortening. Work the butter into the flour using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles tiny pebbles. Add the white vinegar, egg and 5 tablespoons cold water and stir until just combined.
  • Form 2 equal-sized balls. Place each in a large plastic bag (do not seal) and slightly flatten with a rolling pin; this makes it much easier to roll out the crust later. After flattening, seal the bag tightly. Place in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes to chill.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Remove 1 bag of dough from the freezer (save the other dough for another use), remove the dough from the bag and place it on a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough starting at the center and working outward. Be gentle and patient; it'll take a little time to get the dough completely rolled out. If you think the bottom is really sticking to the surface below while rolling, use a metal spatula to loosen it. When fully rolled out, loosen again with a spatula and lift the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan (or you can roll the pastry over the rolling pin, lift it onto the pie pan and unroll it). Gently press the dough against the corner of the pan and tear off any excess dough. Then tuck under the edges and go around the pie pan pinching the dough to crimp the edge.
  • For the pie filling: In a bowl, mix the apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, flour and salt. Set aside.
  • For the crumb topping: Cut the butter into the flour with a pastry cutter, then add in the brown sugar, oats and salt.
  • Add the apples to the prepared pie shell and top with the crumb topping. Bake for 1 hour, covering the edge of the crust with foil if it starts to brown too quickly. After an hour, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the pie, then bake for a further 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and pour 1/2 jar (or more, if you're feeling dangerous and naughty) of caramel topping over the top. Allow to cool slightly before serving - or don't if you can't wait!

Tips:

  • Use a good quality apple cider for the best flavor.
  • If you don't have any apple cider, you can substitute apple juice. However, the flavor will not be as intense.
  • To make the caramel sauce, you can use either light or dark brown sugar. Dark brown sugar will give the sauce a richer flavor.
  • If you don't have any caramel sauce, you can substitute store-bought caramel sauce. However, the flavor will not be as good as if you make your own.
  • To make the whipped cream, you can use either heavy cream or whipping cream. Heavy cream will give the whipped cream a richer flavor.
  • If you don't have any whipped cream, you can substitute store-bought whipped cream. However, the flavor will not be as good as if you make your own.
  • To make the apple pie filling, you can use either fresh or frozen apples. If you use fresh apples, be sure to peel and core them before slicing them.
  • You can add other spices to the apple pie filling, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice.
  • To make the martini, you can use either vodka or apple vodka. Apple vodka will give the martini a stronger apple flavor.
  • You can garnish the martini with a slice of apple or a cinnamon stick.

Conclusion:

The Caramel Apple Pie Martini is a delicious and festive cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. Whether you like your martinis sweet, tart, or somewhere in between, this recipe has you covered. So next time you're looking for a special cocktail to enjoy, give the Caramel Apple Pie Martini a try. You won't be disappointed!
