Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 -3 chilled cantaloupe, wedges
ice cube
1 dash rose water
1 -2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, to taste
honey or sugar
1 thinly sliced lemon wedge
1 sprig mint

Steps:

  • Blend cantaloupe with several cubes of ice in a blender.
  • Add a dash of rosewater. Rosewater is a delightful ingredient true to its name but it is also a dominating one so use sparingly. Jazz up the flavor by adding 1 tablespoon or more of fresh lemon juice. Mix with a wooden spoon. Sweeten to taste with honey or lemon, sparingly, so as to allow the natural flavor of the cantaloupe to shine through.
  • Pour into a glass and garnish with fresh mint or very thinly sliced wedge of lemon. Drink up!
  • Drink it quickly before the ice melts and dilutes the drink.

Fresh Mint Cantaloupe Cooler image

This is my favorite new way to enjoy summer cantaloupe. And it's a great way to cool off in summer! Growing mint is rather easy too. We have some in a large pot, and it comes back each year in full force with almost no effort on our part.

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 c hot water
4 Tbsp light agave nectar
4 c peeled, seeded, and diced cantaloupe
3 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice

Steps:

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine hot water with agave nectar. Stir until agave nectar is dissolved in the water. Cool the mixture.
  • 2. In a blender, place cantaloupe, lime juice, and the water and agave nectar mixture. Liquify.
  • 3. Pour cantaloupe puree through a fine sieve into a large bowl. Reserve liquid; discard solids. Cool.
  • 4. Garnish the drink with fresh cantaloupe, if desired, and serve.
  • 5. Note: Be sure to taste the cantaloupe first. If it's very sweet, reduce the amount of water and agave nectar mixture. Add water to a drink, if desired.

Tips:

  • Pick the right cantaloupe: Choose a ripe, fragrant cantaloupe with a deep orange flesh and a firm rind. Avoid cantaloupes with bruises or soft spots.
  • Chill the cantaloupe: Before making the cooler, chill the cantaloupe for at least 30 minutes. This will help to make the drink extra refreshing.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the cooler. Avoid using bottled lime juice, as it doesn't have the same flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking: The amount of sugar or honey in the recipe can be adjusted to your liking. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add more sugar or honey. If you prefer a less sweet drink, reduce the amount of sugar or honey.
  • Garnish with fresh mint: Fresh mint adds a refreshing flavor and aroma to the cooler. Garnish the drink with a few mint leaves before serving.

Conclusion:

The cantaloupe cooler is a refreshing and delicious summer drink that is easy to make. With its sweet and tangy flavor, this drink is perfect for any occasion. Whether you're hosting a party or just looking for a refreshing drink to enjoy on a hot day, the cantaloupe cooler is sure to please. So next time you're looking for a refreshing and delicious drink, give the cantaloupe cooler a try. You won't be disappointed!
