This is a wonderful bread that goes very well with tea. I like this recipe over other lemon bread recipes I've found because the glaze is allowed to saturate the bread all the way through.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lemons. Fresh lemons will give your bread the best flavor. If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will not be as good.
  • Zest the lemons before juicing them. The zest of the lemon contains a lot of flavor, so it's important to zest the lemons before juicing them. You can use a microplane grater or a vegetable peeler to zest the lemons.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the bread tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This is the best way to tell if the bread is done baking.
  • Let the bread cool completely before serving. This will allow the bread to set and develop its full flavor.

Conclusion:

Lemon bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up fresh lemons, and it's always a hit with friends and family. With its bright, citrusy flavor, lemon bread is a refreshing and flavorful treat that is sure to please everyone.
