1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup water, divided
1 pound boneless beef top round steak, cut into thin 2-inch strips
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into thin wedges
Hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • Mix garlic powder and 2 tablespoons each cornstarch and water; toss with beef. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and the remaining cornstarch and water until smooth., In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium-high heat; stir-fry beef until browned, 2-3 minutes. 1/2 cup water, plus
2 tablespoons water, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb boneless round steak or 1 lb charcoal chuck steak, cut into thin 3-inch strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
4 cups broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1/3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
hot cooked rice, for serving
toasted sesame seeds, for serving (optional)

Steps:

¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
1 tablespoon oil
1 head broccoli, cut into 1-inch (2 ½ cm) florets
½ cup water
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the sirloin steak, soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and ginger until the meat is evenly covered in the marinade.

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (I like to use toasted)
1 tablespoon honey
1 clove garlic, finely chopped or grated
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely chopped or grated
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon water
1 pound boneless sirloin, tri tip, flank or skirt steak - sliced into 2 x 1/2 inch strips
1 package (14 ounces) frozen or fresh broccoli florets
3 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic and ginger.
  • Place the beef in a Ziploc bag (or glass bowl), pouring in half of the sauce mixture to coat the beef. Marinate for either 20 minutes on the counter or covered overnight in the fridge.
  • Whisk the cornstarch and water together and add to the remaining sauce mixture.
