1 (12 ounce) package Baby Spinach
1/4 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
fresh ground black pepper
1 tablespoon bacon bits
1 orange, peeled and sectioned

Steps:

  • Thoroughly rinse spinach on cold water, remove stems.
  • Dry with paper toweling or spin dry.
  • To prepare dressing: Combine orange juice, vinegar, oil, zest, Worcestershire, salt and pepper.
  • Heat dressing just until it starts to boil.
  • Toss spinach with hot dressings and bacon bits.
  • Garnish with orange sections.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh spinach, strawberries, and almonds provide the best flavor and texture to this salad. If you can, buy organic ingredients to ensure that they are free of pesticides and herbicides.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time: The dressing for this salad can be made up to 2 days in advance. This makes it easy to have a quick and healthy lunch or dinner on hand.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little dressing goes a long way, so be careful not to add too much. You can always add more dressing if needed, but it's difficult to remove it once it's been added.
  • Serve the salad immediately: This salad is best served fresh. The strawberries will start to wilt if they sit for too long, so it's best to eat it as soon as possible after it's made.

Conclusion:

The California Spinach Salad is a delicious and healthy salad that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. With its fresh ingredients and flavorful dressing, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
