Number Of Ingredients 13

1 Tbsp butter
1 small onion diced
1 medium red bell pepper diced
1 lb shrimp uncooked and chopped
4 clove garlic minced
1 Tbsp cajun seasoning
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 c sour cream
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese divided
1/2 c fresh shredded parmesan cheese
1/4 c scallions white and green parts separated.

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Place butter in a large skillet. Add the onion, and red bell pepper in skillet and cook about 5 minutes. Add the shrimp and garlic and cook until shrimp starts to turn pink. Add the Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • 2. Turn heat to low. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, half the mozzarella , Parmesan, and white parts of the scallions. Stir until all the cheese is melted together and smooth.
  • 3. Place in a baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on the top. Place in oven and bake about 15 to 20 minutes until browned and bubbly.
  • 4. Garnish with the green parts of scallion. Serve with crackers.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, succulent shrimp. Frozen shrimp can be used, but fresh shrimp will give your dip a better flavor and texture.
  • Don't overcook the shrimp. Shrimp cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. Overcooked shrimp will be tough and chewy.
  • Use a good quality cream cheese. The cream cheese is one of the main ingredients in this dip, so it's important to use a good quality brand.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Grated Parmesan cheese will give your dip a more robust flavor than pre-shredded Parmesan.
  • Use a variety of spices. Cajun seasoning is a blend of spices that typically includes paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. You can also add other spices to your dip, such as cumin, oregano, or thyme.
  • Serve the dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables. Cajun shrimp dip is a versatile dish that can be served with a variety of accompaniments.

Conclusion:

Cajun shrimp dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is packed with flavor and can be served with a variety of accompaniments. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give this Cajun shrimp dip a try.
