1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce

Add hot sauce, Worcestershire and tomato paste; cook 1 to 2 minutes. Whisk in remaining quart of stock; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, add sausage and Creole Seasoning; simmer 30 minutes.
  • Use quick-release feature to release pressure; carefully remove lid. Remove beef from pressure cooker; discard cooking liquid. Shred beef into bite-sized pieces. Add beef to vegetable mixture; stir to combine. Serve Gumbo with rice, onion, okra and jalapeños, as desired.

Provided by Renae Ethridge

Categories     Beef Soups

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 lb ground beef
2 can(s) green beans, undrained
2 can(s) corn, undrained
2 can(s) carrots, undrained
4 medium potatoes
cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • 1. Place beef in frying pan, season really well with cajun seasoning.
  • 2. While beef is cooking, peel and chop potatoes, cook on medium-high heat till almost done.
  • 3. Pour all your can veggies in a soup pot, add hamburger and potatoes. Cook until hot and bubbly! Umm so good!
  • 4. Serve with cornbread or crackers...we like both!

Tips:

  • Choose good quality ground beef. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your soup. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean.
  • Brown the ground beef well. This will help to develop the flavor of the beef and prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Don't skip the vegetables. The vegetables add flavor, nutrients, and texture to the soup. Be sure to chop them into small pieces so that they cook evenly.
  • Use a good quality Cajun seasoning. This will give your soup the authentic Cajun flavor that you're looking for. You can find Cajun seasoning at most grocery stores.
  • Simmer the soup for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together and develop.
  • Serve the soup with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include sour cream, shredded cheese, and green onions.

Conclusion:

Cajun hamburger soup is a hearty, flavorful soup that's perfect for a cold winter day. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying soup, give Cajun hamburger soup a try. You won't be disappointed!
