Tips for Making Cabbage Tossed Salad:

  • Choose the right cabbage: Green cabbage is the most common type used for coleslaw, but you can also use red cabbage or a combination of both. If using red cabbage, add a little sugar to the dressing to help balance out its bitterness.
  • Shred the cabbage thinly: This will help the dressing to coat the cabbage evenly.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: In addition to cabbage, you can add other vegetables to your salad, such as carrots, celery, onion, and radishes.
  • Make your own dressing: A simple vinaigrette made with vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper is a classic choice for coleslaw dressing. You can also add other ingredients to your dressing, such as mayonnaise, mustard, or honey.
  • Chill the salad before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and the salad will be more refreshing.
