Tips:
- Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and tools ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
- Use Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the taste of your lemon squares. Use fresh lemons, unsalted butter, and pure vanilla extract for the best results.
- Cream the Butter and Sugar: This step is essential for creating a light and fluffy texture in your lemon squares. Cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add Eggs One at a Time: When adding the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, do so one at a time. This will help prevent the mixture from curdling.
- Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will make your lemon squares tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a 9x13 Inch Baking Pan: A 9x13 inch baking pan is the perfect size for this recipe. If you use a smaller pan, your lemon squares will be too thick and gooey.
- Bake the Lemon Squares Until They Are Set: The lemon squares are done baking when they are set in the center. This will take about 30-35 minutes.
- Let the Lemon Squares Cool Completely: Before you cut and serve the lemon squares, let them cool completely. This will help them hold their shape.
- Dust with Powdered Sugar: Before serving, dust the lemon squares with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
Conclusion:
These buttery lemon squares are the perfect treat for any occasion. They are easy to make and always a hit with family and friends. With their bright lemon flavor and creamy texture, these lemon squares are a delicious way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
