Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 pkg butterscotch chips
1 can(s) chow mein noodles
1 c cocktail peanuts

Steps:

  • 1. Melt the morsels in the top of a double boiler.
  • 2. Stir in noodles and peanuts.
  • 3. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your butterscotch crunchies. Look for unsalted butter, pure vanilla extract, and brown sugar that is soft and moist.
  • Don't overcook the butterscotch. Stir it constantly and cook it until it reaches a temperature of 235 degrees Fahrenheit, or until it has reached a light amber color.
  • Work quickly when adding the cereal. The butterscotch will start to harden quickly, so you need to work quickly to coat the cereal. Use a large bowl and toss the cereal and butterscotch together until the cereal is evenly coated.
  • Let the crunchies cool completely before breaking them apart. This will help them to hold their shape. You can speed up the cooling process by placing the crunchies in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes.

Conclusion:

Butterscotch crunchies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover cereal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of butterscotch crunchies that will be sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give this recipe a try!
