Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large butternut squash (about 3 pounds, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1-inch cubes)
1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary

Steps:

  • Position racks in the upper and lower thirds of your oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Generously coat two baking sheets with nonstick spray.
  • Place the squash cubes in a large bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and maple syrup, then sprinkle the salt, cinnamon, and pepper over the top. Toss to coat, then divide between the two baking sheets, discarding any excess liquid with that collects at the bottom of the bowl. Spread the cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, taking care that they do not overlap.
  • Place the pans in the upper and lower thirds of your oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pans from the oven, turn the cubes with a spatula, then return to the oven, switching the pans' positions on the upper and lower racks. Continue baking until the squash is tender, about 10 to 15 additional minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the rosemary over the top. Serve warm.

BUTTERNUT KISSES

I love kisses

Provided by Nancy Potter @nancypotter37

Categories     Candies

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup(s) butter, softened
1 cup(s) white sugar
2 - eggs, beaten
2 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) ground walnuts
60 - milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in ground nuts. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until set. Press kiss in center of each cookie. Cool on wire rack.

Tips:

  • Use ripe butternut squash: This will ensure that your kisses are sweet and flavorful. Look for squash that is firm to the touch and has a deep orange color.
  • Don't overcook the squash: Butternut squash should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. Overcooking will make the squash mushy and the kisses will fall apart.
  • Use a good quality chocolate: The chocolate is the star of this recipe, so it's important to use a good quality chocolate that you enjoy the taste of. You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate, depending on your preference.
  • Chill the kisses before serving: This will help them to set and firm up. You can also roll the kisses in chopped nuts or sprinkles before serving for an extra festive touch.

Conclusion:

Butternut kisses are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are a great way to use up leftover butternut squash, and they are also a fun and festive treat to make with kids. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and memorable treat that everyone will love.
