Time 5m

Yield 2 cups, 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup light mayonnaise (I use Dukes)
1 cup fat-free buttermilk
1 (1 ounce) packet ranch dressing mix

Steps:

  • Whisk together the sour cream and mayo. Add buttermilk and whisk together. Add ranch dressing mix and whisk until combined.
  • Pour it in a jar, tighten the lid, and place in the fridge for about an hour or more to thicken.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh buttermilk, sour cream, and herbs will give your ranch dressing the best flavor.
  • Make your own buttermilk: If you don't have buttermilk on hand, you can easily make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then use it in your recipe.
  • Let your dressing chill: After you've made your dressing, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Use a variety of herbs: Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs in your ranch dressing. Some good options include chives, dill, parsley, and thyme.
  • Adjust the seasoning to taste: Taste your dressing before serving and adjust the seasoning as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or garlic powder.

Conclusion:

Buttermilk ranch dressing is a versatile and delicious dressing that can be used on a variety of dishes. It's perfect for salads, vegetables, chicken, and fish. With its creamy texture and tangy flavor, buttermilk ranch dressing is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
