My boys went through a phase where they loved Butterfingers. We made Butterfinger shakes, muffins, cookies and experimented with different bars; this one was voted the best of the bunch. Make sure you have an extra candy bar on hand because it's hard to resist a nibble or two while you're chopping. -Barbara Leighty, Simi Valley, California

Tips for Making Butterfinger Cookie Bars

  • Use fresh ingredients. This will ensure that your bars have the best possible flavor and texture.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bars tough and chewy.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the bars hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking can make the bars dry and crumbly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them hold together better and prevent them from falling apart.
