Tips:

  • Trim the Green Beans: Before cooking, trim the stem ends of the green beans. This will help them cook evenly and make them more aesthetically pleasing.
  • Use Fresh Green Beans: Fresh green beans have a crisp texture and vibrant color. If you're using frozen green beans, thaw them before cooking.
  • Don't Overcook the Beans: Green beans should be cooked until they are tender-crisp. Overcooking will make them mushy.
  • Add Cashews at the End: Add the cashews towards the end of cooking so that they don't become overcooked and chewy.
  • Season to Taste: Season the green beans with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Conclusion:

Buttered Green Beans with Cashews is a simple but delicious side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a healthy and flavorful way to get your daily dose of vegetables. The cashews add a crunchy texture and a nutty flavor that complements the green beans perfectly. This dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.
