I adapted an old sour cream bread recipe for this deliciously different pull-apart loaf that smells heavenly while baking. It has a light crust, tender interior and lots of herb and butter flavor. We think it's wonderful with a hot bowl of potato soup. -Katie Crill, Priest River, Idaho

1/2 cup water (70° to 80°)
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups bread flour
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
GARLIC HERB BUTTER:
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon each dried oregano, thyme and rosemary, crushed

Steps:

  • In bread machine pan, place the first 7 ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1-2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). , When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes. Divide dough into 36 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. In a shallow bowl, combine butter, garlic and herbs. Dip each ball in mixture; place in an ungreased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes., Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown (cover loosely with foil if bread browns too quickly). 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed (16 ounces)
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
6 bacon strips, cooked and finely crumbled, divided
1/3 cup finely chopped green onions, divided
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons salt-free herb seasoning blend
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
Optional: Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce

Steps:

  • Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; divide and shape into 16 rolls. Place butter in a shallow bowl. In a large bowl, combine the shredded Parmesan, half the bacon, half the green onions, grated Parmesan, seasoning blend and sugar. Dip dough pieces in melted butter, then toss with cheese mixture to coat. 2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
2 cups warm whole milk (110° to 115°)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon shortening
2 teaspoons salt
6-1/4 to 6-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
2 teaspoons garlic powder

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, sugar, shortening, salt and 2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn out on a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. 4 or 5 biscuits, thawed (or until you can almost fill the bottom of the bread pan)
1/3 c butter, melted
1/4 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp onion powder
4 clove garlic minced or pressed

  • 1. Grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan
  • 2. Cut dough in half or quarters (it all depends on how big you want the pieces to be) and throw into pan
  • 3. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over dough.

2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 1/2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 -3 teaspoons water

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375. Grease bottom and sides of a 9 x 5" loaf pan with shortening or cooking spray. In small bowl mix 2 T sugar and the cinnamon; set aside.
  • In medium bowl, stir Bisquick, milk, 1/3 c sugar, 3 T softened butter, vanilla and egg until soft dough forms. Shape dough into 1" balls; roll in cinnamon sugar. Place dough randomly in pan. Sprinkle with any remainng cinnamon sugar; drizzle 2 T melted butter over dough balls.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand in pan 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix glaze ingredients in small bowl, until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.
