Number Of Ingredients 5

12 flat bottom ice cream cones
1 box brownie mix (21-23 oz.)
1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
6 tablespoons butter or margarine (3/4 stick)
candy sprinkles

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350. Place the cones in muffin tins or on a baking sheet. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions. Spoon the batter into cones, filling 3/4 full. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tops are cracked and have risen above the rim of the cones. A cake tester inserted in the center will not test clean. Remove the cones from the oven and cool to room temperature. Melt the chocolate chips and butter or margarine in a double boiler over hot water, stirring until smooth. Dip the tops of the brownies into the chocolate. If not well covered, dip again. Stand the cones upright and sprinkle the tops with candy sprinkles. Let them stand at room temperature until the chocolate hardens before serving. The cones may be loosely covered and kept at room temperature overnight. Makes 12 cones. Moist, fudgy brownies are baked in the cones. When dipped in chocolate frosting and sprinkle, they look just like ice cream cones. Season's Greetings

Tips:

  • To make perfectly crisp waffle cones, preheat your waffle iron to the highest setting and cook the batter until it is golden brown and crispy.
  • If you don't have a waffle cone maker, you can use a regular ice cream cone. Just be sure to trim the bottom so that it can stand upright.
  • For a richer brownie batter, use melted dark chocolate or cocoa powder.
  • To make the brownies extra gooey, add a tablespoon of instant coffee powder to the batter.
  • Be careful not to overfill the waffle cones with brownie batter. Otherwise, they will overflow and make a mess.
  • Bake the waffle cone brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the waffle cone brownies cool completely before serving. This will help them to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

Waffle cone brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and filled with rich chocolate flavor. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make these delicious treats at home. So next time you are looking for a fun and unique dessert, give waffle cone brownies a try.
