BROWNIE IN A MUG

This easy mug brownie recipe makes a single serving and takes just about 10 minutes from start to first bite. Add a scoop of your favorite ice cream or some whipped cream on top!

Provided by Elise Bauer

Categories     Snack     Kid-friendly     Microwave     Quick and Easy

Time 9m

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter, mild extra-virgin olive oil, or neutral oil
1/4 cup (30 grams) flour
3 tablespoons (35 grams) sugar
2 tablespoons (13 grams) natural unsweetened cocoa powder (NOT Dutch processed)
Pinch salt
Tiny pinch cinnamon, optional
3 tablespoons (44 ml) milk, water, or coffee
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice cream, whipped cream, or heavy cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Cook in the microwave: Microwave, uncovered, on high power for 1 minute. You may need to adjust the time for less or more powerful microwaves. If you don't know the power level on your microwave, start with 1 minute and continue cooking in 10-second increments until the brownie is done. For a 1000-watt microwave 1 minute is good; for 1650-watt microwaves, we recommend 1 minute and 10 seconds. After cooking, the brownie should still look a tad moist, not dry. Some wet-looking spots are okay; those will set up as the brownie rests.

Nutrition Facts : Calories 577.9, Fat 29, SaturatedFat 4.4, Sodium 4.4, Carbohydrate 80.7, Fiber 4.4, Sugar 50.8, Protein 5.3

Tips:

  • Use the right mug: A large, microwave-safe mug is best. This will give the brownie enough room to rise and prevent it from overflowing.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the brownie tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Be careful not to overcook the brownie: The brownie is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownie cool for a few minutes before eating: This will help the brownie to set and will make it easier to eat.
  • Serve the brownie with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings include ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and nuts.

Conclusion:

A brownie in a mug is a quick and easy dessert that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious brownie in minutes. So next time you're craving a chocolate fix, try making a brownie in a mug. You won't be disappointed!
