Number Of Ingredients 5

12 flat bottom ice cream cones
1 box brownie mix (21-23 oz.)
1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
6 tablespoons butter or margarine (3/4 stick)
candy sprinkles

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350. Place the cones in muffin tins or on a baking sheet. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions. Spoon the batter into cones, filling 3/4 full. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tops are cracked and have risen above the rim of the cones. A cake tester inserted in the center will not test clean. Remove the cones from the oven and cool to room temperature. Melt the chocolate chips and butter or margarine in a double boiler over hot water, stirring until smooth. Dip the tops of the brownies into the chocolate. If not well covered, dip again. Stand the cones upright and sprinkle the tops with candy sprinkles. Let them stand at room temperature until the chocolate hardens before serving. The cones may be loosely covered and kept at room temperature overnight. Makes 12 cones. Moist, fudgy brownies are baked in the cones. When dipped in chocolate frosting and sprinkle, they look just like ice cream cones. Season's Greetings

Time 2h

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix
½ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup water
2 eggs
1 quart mint chocolate chip ice cream, or as needed
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 9-inch cake pans.
  • Combine the brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs in a mixing bowl; stir well with a spoon until thickened and smooth, about 1 minute. Spread the batter into the prepared cake pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until set and browned, about 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center of a pan should come out with moist crumbs. Let cool for 10 minutes in pans before removing to finish cooling on racks.
  • After brownies are cool, remove ice cream from freezer and allow to soften for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, pour sweetened condensed milk into a saucepan, and mix in the chocolate chips; heat over low heat, stirring constantly, just until chips have melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool to barely warm temperature.
  • Place one of the layers of brownies into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Evenly spread the ice cream in a layer over the brownies; pour and spread half the chocolate sauce over the ice cream. Top with the other brownie layer, and drizzle the remaining sauce over the top. Freeze until ready to eat, at least 1 hour. Serve topped with whipped topping, if desired.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the brownie batter. This will make a big difference in the final flavor of the ice cream cones.
  • Don't overmix the brownie batter. Overmixing will make the brownies tough.
  • Bake the brownies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before assembling the ice cream cones.
  • Use a good quality ice cream for the filling. Homemade ice cream is always best, but store-bought ice cream can also be used.
  • Be creative with your toppings! You can use anything from sprinkles to chopped nuts to chocolate chips.

Conclusion:

Brownie ice cream cones are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are sure to be a hit with friends and family. So next time you are looking for a fun and festive dessert, give these brownie ice cream cones a try!
