BLUEBERRY CAKE WITH BROWN SUGAR SAUCE
This recipe comes from a cookbook titled The First Batch of Treasured Recipes from Home by Kyla Pierik and was purchased at Apple Berry Farm Market in my hometown. The blueberry cake is warmed and then you pour the heated sauce over top. Some may find it a tad bit sweet, but in our household it was a definite winner.

Tips for Making Brown Sugar Sauce:
- Use light or dark brown sugar, depending on your desired flavor and color. Dark brown sugar will give the sauce a richer, more molasses-like flavor, while light brown sugar will produce a lighter, more delicate sauce.
- To make a smooth sauce, whisk the brown sugar and cornstarch together before adding the water. This will help prevent the sauce from becoming lumpy.
- Bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Stir the sauce constantly to prevent it from burning.
- Add butter, vanilla extract, or other flavorings to the sauce to taste.
- Use brown sugar sauce as a glaze for chicken, pork, or fish. Or, serve it over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.
Conclusion:
Brown sugar sauce is a versatile and delicious sauce that can be used in a variety of ways. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. So next time you're looking for a sweet and flavorful sauce, give brown sugar sauce a try!
