Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 packet CREAM OF WHEAT Maple Brown Sugar Instant Hot Cereal, uncooked
1/2 packet Cinnabon Cream of Wheat Instant Hot Cereal, *uncooked
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted

Steps:

  • MIX flour, Cream of Wheat cereals and baking powder in medium bowl; set aside. BEAT milk, egg and margarine in separate bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Add to dry ingredients; mix just until blended. Let stand 5 minutes. COAT hot griddle or hot skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Ladle scant 1/4 cup batter onto griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on top; turn over and cook until lightly browned. Repeat with remaining pancake batter. Serve with butter and maple syrup, if desired.

Tips:

  • Use Buttermilk: Buttermilk adds a tangy flavor and helps make the pancakes light and fluffy.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will result in tough pancakes. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the Batter Rest: Letting the batter rest for a few minutes before cooking allows the gluten to relax, resulting in more tender pancakes.
  • Use a Hot Griddle: A hot griddle is essential for cooking pancakes evenly. Make sure the griddle is hot enough before adding the batter.
  • Cook the Pancakes Slowly: Cook the pancakes over medium heat. Cooking them too quickly will result in burnt pancakes.
  • Flip the Pancakes Only Once: Once the pancakes start to bubble around the edges and the center is set, flip them only once. Flipping them too often will make them tough.
  • Serve the Pancakes Warm: Pancakes are best served warm. Serve them with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

These brown sugar cinnamon pancakes are a delicious and easy breakfast treat. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy a stack of fluffy, flavorful pancakes that are perfect for any occasion. So next time you're looking for a special breakfast, give these brown sugar cinnamon pancakes a try.
