Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the final dish. Choose the best quality brown rice, black beans, and bell peppers you can find.
  • Don't overcook the rice: Brown rice can easily become mushy if it's overcooked. Cook it according to the package directions, or until it's tender but still has a slight bite to it.
  • Sauté the vegetables until they're tender-crisp: You want the vegetables to retain their texture and flavor, so don't overcook them. Sauté them over medium heat until they're just tender.
  • Use a flavorful broth: The broth you use will add a lot of flavor to the dish. Choose a broth that you enjoy the taste of, such as vegetable broth, chicken broth, or beef broth.
  • Season the dish to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste, and adjust the seasonings as needed. You can also add other spices, such as cumin, chili powder, or paprika, to taste.
