Time 4h

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup mayonnaise (use mayo not salad dressing)
1 pinch garlic powder (optional)
4 cups fresh broccoli florets, washed and very well drained (I do this hours in advance or even a day ahead to make certain that the broccoli is well drained)
1 cup raisins
10 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the ingredients, the better the salad will taste. If possible, buy organic produce to avoid pesticides and herbicides.
  • Choose a variety of colors and textures. This will make the salad more visually appealing and interesting to eat. Some good options include broccoli florets, sliced mushrooms, orange segments, chopped walnuts, and crumbled feta cheese.
  • Don't overcook the broccoli. Broccoli should be cooked just until it is tender-crisp. Overcooked broccoli will be mushy and bland.
  • Use a light dressing. A heavy dressing will overpower the delicate flavors of the salad. A simple vinaigrette made with olive oil, vinegar, Dijon mustard, and salt and pepper is a good option.
  • Serve the salad immediately. Salad is best eaten fresh. If you need to make it ahead of time, store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before serving.

Conclusion:

Broccoli, mushroom, and orange salad is a delicious and healthy dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its vibrant colors and refreshing flavors, this salad is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
