CHEESEBURGER BROCCOLI CHOWDER
I invented this soup accidentally! Actually, it came about when I was new to cooking, and didn't know that "chowder" was a kind of soup-so I made mashed potatoes to go with the dish I was making. We ended up dunking our mashed potatoes into the soup as "gravy"-and it was delicious!-Karen Davies, Wanipigow, Manitoba

Tips:
- Choose the right broccoli: Look for broccoli with tightly closed florets and a deep green color. Avoid broccoli with yellowing or wilted florets.
- Wash the broccoli thoroughly: Before using, rinse the broccoli under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
- Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces: This will help the broccoli cook evenly and quickly.
- Don't overcook the broccoli: Broccoli should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight crunch. Overcooked broccoli will become mushy.
- Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will have a big impact on the flavor of the chowder. Use a sharp cheddar cheese for a bold flavor, or a milder cheese like Monterey Jack for a more subtle flavor.
- Season the chowder to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You may also want to add a splash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little extra heat.
- Serve the chowder hot: Broccoli chowder is best served hot, with a side of crusty bread or crackers.
Conclusion:
Broccoli chowder is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a cold day. It is packed with nutrients and can be made with a variety of ingredients, making it a versatile dish that can be enjoyed by everyone. So next time you are looking for a comforting and healthy meal, give broccoli chowder a try.
